We had a blast at the East Palo Alto IKEA today! My little sweetie loves the slide & jumping on the inflated hedgehog she calls an owl because of it's eyes. Everything round is a "ball" to her and she points it out and yells it out! Lamps, globes, planets and balls... She has most of the IKEA toys already. She started with a crib, blankets and sheets before she was born. Then she aquired the highchair, sippy cups, bibs, dishes, spoons. Today she got the very mod blue walker (everyone should get one when they're 1 year old! She also got a washing machine and the animal finger puppets. She has the swiveling egg chair, the train set, paints, etc.
We shared the vegies and pesto pasta for dinner. It was so fun. She's 15 months old and looks so cute at the little tables in the cafeteria. When other kids come in to eat. She gets right up and over to their table to greet them! I had to keep bringing her back to our table. She also runs around smiling and saying hello to the other diners at the big tables.

We went to the library this morning and got 6 books and a "Cougar" video that she laughed and smiled at, especially the cubs and the kids. We skipped the playground this morning, which is rare. It's just really hot and we needed a change. We played at Thousand Oaks playground last night in North Berkeley & we were there very late. She was playing at the big kid play structure, which is about 4 feet off the ground. I "spotted" her from below and blocked the openings in the structure that were "sheer drops" and she had a great time with the big kids running past her shrieking and giggling. She steps up and down steps by herself with ease and fearlessly goes down big slides on her butt or face first on her tummy! Ahhhh We also played at Montclair Park yesterday or the day before, plus the day before that and we go to Linda Park almost once a day. Yesterday she went twice. So anyway, she is very strong and happy and healthy and says doll, dog, ball, apple, owl, up, baby, mama, dada most frequently. nighty night
